BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more fun…and much less stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years back that is probably cost them thousandsof thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of these with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they are a trusted and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What just did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We believe a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices crosses the spectrum of shady behavior, ranging from telling enjoys to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they whined about what network it was on. They claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about the way they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and mended, and that BetOnline was (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Though we might lie also if we had been on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad way to advertise a new product. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy do they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of clients. The justification was nearly always because the customer supposedly cheated, although no evidence was provided from BetOnline (from the cases we have read).
One case that caught our eye was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him cheating (for proof).
He never got them . What he did get was empty promises about the way they had been on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories because the documents were too large.
(Anybody who knows anything regarding internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — knows what a crock that is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the participant get his cash back. His final update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for him, but also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the participant didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else would be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an extra $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from the same house at the moment. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table — but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many sites would have captured it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s though, is how they needed to also take his $37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members suggested that many legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the player’s account would come under review. He would never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline desired it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it is absurd BetOnline believes they need to be able to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we wish to share is an instance where a BetOnline rep outed how the staff knew their customer’s passwords and login numbers. You can see the live chat log here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, just a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’re going to see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is how these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you occupied.
Subsequently BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were struggling to cover their clients.
Thent a couple of months later a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the acquisition, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all of the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment team is dedicated for SportsBetting.ag winners paid in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “But since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through various fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is complete, customers will experience drastically improved payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment choices, including same day options.”
Nobody knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for over $1.5 million in obligations that was not reported from the previous direction. So I think it would be safe to assume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; normal stuff all companies face that we’ll address later on in our review once it is logical. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They even have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does this mean for you? Should you forgive and forget? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We will be honest — there is no way we would’ve played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had heard or known about any of those reports above. Nobody in their right mind would. You would be safer light your cash on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the mistakes they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be taken lightly.
But as buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable today urging them to our subscribers.
And it is not only us. When you look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, only to get a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here is where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the latest of which we highlight in our review below.
But, as best as we could tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they offer players. So we feel secure using accounts here.
It is up to you to choose if you feel the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous from the way, let us jump into what’s important now — and that’s what BetOnline provides concerning banking, gambling options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good choice of banking choices. However, you will want to keep in mind that what is available for you will be determined by where you live.
Let us begin with their deposit choices.

The largest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only sites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s one of those additional kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
Cash Outs

What I don’t like is how you are going to pay a fee for every single banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to cover a 2% commission.
That said, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they’ve received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they’re in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I have seen reports that suggest BetOnline gives you a $50 credit monthly if you place in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. This means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular solution, is that their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on sports, horses and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football One option they’ve added recently is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast that business is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they just have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That being said, I think it’s a good idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to expand their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing to the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s always going to be the case, nor can it matter if they never enlarge this section of their sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on these.
They offer live gambling also. These options change continuously, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for football, tennis and baseball. You can also keep track of a few of games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook additionally runs a fair variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll see in their own racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you will see a list of races on their main page. Each record tells you how many spacious races you’ll find, which should you click it is going to expand to reveal the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a fantastic section to search through is that their racebook info tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their track limitations. This lets you know the max you can bet per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you’ll make in case your bet(s) win.Their principles and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a good section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a few offers too, though nowhere near the quality or quantity their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min quantity or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the first time in the racebook. If you lose BetOnline will refund you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager type.
This section looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the focus or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular alternatives for Americans. They are a part of this Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in total traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they had around 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. Previously they had several complaints about the quality of their software. This included complaints regarding fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their update we have seen suggestions they may have some of the best applications in the US market.
From worst to best at 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But based on the images I’ve seen, their software DOES look much better.
But, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have any options for cellular players, and that we think is a no-brainer in this era. They also only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be nice to see more game choices.
Overall, though, it is nice to see they are making improvements and are getting more competitive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of which, a Number of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover out this to you 5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They are running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees more than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not exactly a”bonus,” however, the games here must be softer because of the US traffic along with also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be easier here compared to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find lots of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft applications, each of which are known for producing topnotch games. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:
9 blackjack variations.13 table games.19 regular slots plus 37 3D slots.17 video poker games.Live dealers for blackjack, roulette and baccarat.
Let’s get more specific however. Here’s a little sample of the casino and ability games you can play at BetOnline. See our casino review for a comprehensive list.

LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
One thing to find here are the accounts I have seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software is not high-quality, I anticipated them to excel at customer services. How else can you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, through their live chat service (and I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
After the live chat session started, I had to wait for a few minutes until the customer support person bothered to reply, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password into some live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I do not want to enter that information to a chat room and, more importantly, the question requires no such information since it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait ten more minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely ), while getting”Thank you for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a moment…” every now and then.
That said, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they provide exceptional customer service. In addition, he says that your best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to us that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with the way they manage customer support…an
